The USC School of Law has reciprocity agreements with the Career Services offices of many law schools throughout the country. Students who are seeking jobs outside South Carolina may ask the Office of Career Services to write another law school asking the school's help in the job search.
Reciprocity Policy
- Services are available only to those ABA accredited law schools which allow University of South Carolina students and/or graduates use of their facilities.
- Services are available to a particular student or graduate for a period of four (4) months from the date of the original request.
- All requests for service should be made in writing by a career planning/placement official at least one (1) week in advance of the student's or graduate's intended visit.
- The following services will be provided to the extent that the reciprocating school provides in-kind service:
- Current position vacancy announcements
- Resource center publications and directories
- Check the Alumni Career Opportunities Newsletter for updates of career
- Limited counseling (by appointment only)
- Reciprocity will not be available during the Fall on-campus interviewing season, August 15 - November 1.
- Without exception, students and graduates of other schools will not be permitted to schedule on-campus interview appointments with prospective employers.
- The Director of Career Services may deny further services to any school surpassing a reasonable number of requests within a given calendar year, or to individuals who misuse the facilities or services.
