2005 Recipients

We are proud to announce this year's Compleat Lawyer Award Recipients in the Platinum (in practice 30+ years), Gold (in practice 15-29 years) and Silver (in practice 14 years or less) Categories. The recipients will be awarded at the Annual Alumni Dinner on Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

  • Platinum Award– Joel W. Collins, Jr., Darra W. Cothran, and G. Dewey Oxner, Jr.
  • Gold Award– Clarence Davis, Bradish J. (Brad) Waring, and Robert M. Wilcox
  • Silver Award– John F. Emerson, Nekki Shutt, and Carl L. Solomon

We welcome The Honorable William (Bill) R. Wilson, Jr., as guest speaker this year.

The Judge Wilson was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and was raised in the Scott County area. He attended the University of Arkansas and Hendrix College, where he received a B.A. in 1962. He then attended Vanderbilt University and received his LLB in 1965. He was admitted to the Arkansas bar that same year.

After serving as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Miller County, Arkansas for one year he entered the U.S. Navy and served for four years. He then returned to Little Rock and joined the Wright Lindsey & Jennings Law Firm. In 1972 he started his own law practice. Until he became a judge, he has been recognized in each edition of The Best Lawyers in America, cited for his work in business litigation, criminal defense, family law, 1st Amendment law and personal injury litigation. He is the only lawyer in the United States who has been listed in as many as five categories.

Over the years, Judge Wilson has lectured on Torts and Evidence, Trial Advocacy and Products Liability at the University of Arkansas School of Law at Little Rock.

He has been the Wye Mountain Branch Manager of the internationally famous Rasputin Mule Farm headquartered in Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas since 1986 and United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Arkansas since 1993.
