MOTLEY RICE PRESENTATION
Leading South Carolina plaintiffs' counsel Ron Motley and Joe Rice will talk about one of their unique current cases. They will be primarily discussing the Camel Jockey case -- that's right, camel jockeys. In this lawsuit, filed in federal district court in Florida, the firm is representing boys and/or their legal guardians who were allegedly abducted by various wealthy Arab sheikhs in the United Arab Emirates and then forced into slavery to work as camel jockeys. It is one of those cases that catches the eye and makes you wonder: does that really go on? If so, is it grounds for a lawsuit in the United States? Ron will present an overview of the case and how it ended up in here. He and Joe will also spend some time discussing some of the interesting and unique discovery issues that have arisen in this case, so the talk is likely to be particularly worthwhile for students enrolled in civil procedure or advanced litigation courses. For more information, you can go to the foll!
