EXAM TIME MASSAGES

Let SBA treat you to a FREE exam time massage from expert masseuse Elizabeth Blocker! Elizabeth will be in the Law School lobby on April 23rd, 27th and 30th from 2 - 4:30pm. Massages will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.

DEAN PRATT'S TOWN HALL MEETING

Dean Pratt's last Town Hall Meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, April 17th at 12:45. Room TBA. Please send any questions or concerns you would like Dean Pratt to address to Robert Hawk at rbhawk@gmail.com. Lunch will be served.

CONGRATS

Congrats go to Team "Generic Motors" for winning the Pi Mile 5k benefiting Teach for America on Saturday, April 15th. The team included Professor Michael Virzi (1st place for the men's side), Anna Virzi, Ginny Watson (3rd place on the women's side), David Williams, Sarah Sutusky, Meggie Baker, Andrea Sancho, Blaine Pleming, and Lindsay Joyner. The team was awarded a plaque to be displayed in the law school as well as a gift certificate to Delaney's.

NOTES FROM THE ADMINISTRATION

FINANCIAL AID

If you plan to seek financial aid or a need based scholarship for next year, don't forget to complete the FAFSA and Need Based scholarship forms. The Need Based Scholarship form must be submitted to Room 105 by June 1st. Forms for summer financial aid are now available on the University website (www.sc.edu). Deadline for summer financial aid applications is May 1.

ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE

Academic Assistance Program (AAP) applications for the 2007-08 academic year are now available. Please see Beth Davis, JoAnne Heiting, Laura Long or Angie Sightler for an application. Deadline to submit applications is 5:00pm on Friday, May 4, 2007.

SPRING 2007 EXAM SCHEDULE

Please see http://www.law.sc.edu/registrar/downloads/200711/200711-exams.pdf, and check with your professor for meeting room if more than one room has been assigned for an exam.

SECUREXAM

Students planning to use SecurExam must first register on the law registrar's website (law.sc.edu/registrar/securexam.shtml), then stop by suite 137 to download the software. If you have questions about SecurExam, please contact the law registrar, 777-5221.

SPRING 2007 GRADES

Due Monday, June 4, 2007, including grades for graduating 3Ls.

SPRING 2007 AEGS NUMBERS

Spring 2007 Anonymous Examination Grading System Numbers (AEGS) are available in the law registrar/academic services office, suite 137. A new number is issued every semester. AEGS numbers will not be distributed via email, phone or fax.


NOTES FROM STUDENT SERVICES

MAY BRIDGE THE GAP DEADLINE

The registration deadline for the May 7-9th Bridge the Gap session is Friday, April 27. Applications are available in Student Services, rm. 131-K. Rising 3L law students are eligible to take Bridge the Gap at this time. There will be an envelope in Student Services (until 4/27) for you to slip the completed application and fee ($300).

LAST CALL FOR 2006-2007 FACEBOOKS

May Grads, would you like to purchase a Facebook for further reference in your legal career? If so, do so now, as the price has dropped to $12.00. You can purchase them in Student Services, rm. 131-K.

EXAM STUDY BREAKS

Exam study breaks will again be offered during the two weeks of exams and on Sunday afternoons. Exam breaks begin at 10:00 a.m., so please, if you have a 9:00 a.m. exam, allow time to have breakfast before your exam.

MPRE EXAM DATE TO REMEMBER FOR AUGUST

If you are planning to take the August 10 MPRE exam, please remember that the deadline to register on the web (www.act.org/mpre/services) is July 3, 2007. Put that date on your summer calendar. The MPRE review course for this August 10th exam is Saturday, August 3 in rm. 333. Registration can be made by emailing me, joanne@law.sc.edu.

GRADUATION MARSHALS

We are still in need of 6 students who will be in Columbia on Friday, May 11th from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon to help us with the Law School Hooding ceremony on the Horseshoe. If you could help serve as a graduation marshal, kindly see JoAnne in rm. 131-K.

PMBR

PMBR--last table day of the semester is Tuesday, April 17. We will be in lobby from 9am-4pm to help students sign up for classes. After Tuesday, order forms may be handed to your PMBR student rep or placed in Lisa Bentley's box.

April 20 is the deadline for 3Ls to pay in full for this summer's classes. After the 20 students will need to call or mail in their own orders; they may contact Lisa Bentley for further details.
