CAREER SERVICES SEMINAR

"How to Draft a Legal Resume." This is a repeat for those who did not attend last semester. Sorry, no food; it should be a fairly short presentation.

"How the On-Campus Interview Process Works." Everything you need to know about OCI: dates, times, and deadlines will be discussed. We will put eAttorney up on the screen and show how to upload your resume, how to bid for interviews, etc. There will also be information about Job Bank, for non-OCI employers. Lunch will be served.

SPRING 2008
Law classes begin Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Monday classes will meet. Normal class schedule will resume on Wednesday, January 9, 2008.
DROP/ADD
The last day to drop/add Business Crimes, Professional Responsibility and Women and Human Rights under Islam on VIP is Wednesday, January 9, 2008. You may drop (not add) one of these courses after January 9th by coming to the Office of the Law Registrar/Academic Services, suite 137. If you drop on of these courses via VIP after January 9th, you will receive a "W" on your record. This "W" cannot be removed once posted. The last day to drop/add all other courses (excluding Business Crimes, Professional Responsibility and Women and Human Rights under Islam) is Wednesday, January 16, 2008.
PAYMENTS
The last day to pay fees/tuition is Tuesday, January 15, 2008 by 5pm. If you have financial aid available, please log onto VIP and apply it towards your fees/tuition. Payments can also be made at the Coliseum on January 10-11 and 14-15. Questions about fee/tuition payment, please visit the Office of the Law Registrar/Academic Services, suit 137.
FALL 2007 GRADES
Fall 2007 grades are due Wednesday, January 16, 2008.

In addition to the two seminars listed above, we will be holding several other information sessions in the semester. Here are the details:

- HOW TO INTERVIEW: Tips on what will be asked, what legal interviewers look for, and how to prepare. Lunch will be served.

- DRESS AND ETIQUETTE FOR LEGAL INTERVIEWS, COCKTAIL PARTIES, AND SUMMER JOBS: Experienced lawyer John Emerson gives an amusing and helpful presentation. Learn about surprising mistakes that even socially savvy law students make. Lunch will be served.
- Tuesday, February 5, Room 135 -- 12:40
- INTERVIEW DEMONSTRATION: Lawyer(s) from Nelson Mullins will interview a 2L while you observe. Comments by the lawyer and firm Recruiting Coordinator following the interview. Lunch will be served.

Sponsored by the SBA and Career Services. There will be speakers each day at 12:40. Lunch will be served.
Topics will include: Alternative Careers; Judicial clerkships; Law firm jobs (small and large firms); Government work.

Look for details later about the chance to have a video mock interview! Please take advantage of these opportunities. Also prepare your resume early and have it reviewed by Ms. Seiner or Ms. Burkhard. (Appointment sheets on the counter.) Resumes and bids for OCI are due by January 22 at NOON.
