Courses

COPYRIGHT, LAWS 723 (3 hours) An examination of copyright law and other aspects of law pertaining to literary, musical and artistic works. The Copyright Act of 1976 will be studied along with relevant cases decided before the effective date of the current Act. The course will also consider recent developments in federal preemption, the right of publicity, and some of the First Amendment problems of this area of law.

DOMESTIC RELATIONS, LAWS 759 (3 hours) Analysis of legal requirments and limitations on creation, maintenance, and dissolution of family relationships.

TORTS I, LAWS 530 (3 hours) The legal protection afforded in civil proceedings against interference by others with the security of one's person, property, or intangible interests; the analysis of intentional interference, negligence, and strict liability in the context of recognized categories of tort liability.

TORTS II, LAWS 531 (3 hours) Continuation of Torts I.
