The Passing of an Era

Helen Gulick "Mrs. G"

Mrs. Helen Gulick died December 16, 2002. For 15 years, she worked in the reference department of the Coleman Karesh Law Library, imparting knowledge and dispensing consolation to students, faculty, staff and lawyers. Following her retirement from the law library, she worked at the Sinkler and Boyd law firm’s library (now Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd) for a number of years.
In recognition of Gulick’s service and friendship, a Helen Gulick Memorial Fund has been established to help raise funds to expand the reference collection at the Coleman Karesh Law Library. Many remember “Mrs. G.” working in close proximity to the reference books and delighting in the fact that some students thought she had memorized the content of all the library’s books. Memorials may be made by contacting Martha Murphy, director of annual giving, at 803-777-7207 or e-mail at murphy@law.law.sc.edu.
