William S. Davies Jr. was awarded the Outstanding State Representative Award at the 2004 DRI Annual Meeting. He was honored for making significant contributions toward the promotion and increase of DRI membership in South Carolina.

Larry J. Ritchie, a professor at the Roger Williams University Ralph R. Papitto School of Law in Bristol, R.I., has been appointed to the newly-created position of Frances E. Johnson director of competitions. Professor Ritchie is responsible for the administration of all external law school forensic competitions, including mock trials and moot court.
