I.M. Goldberg
1933-1979

I.M. Goldberg was born in Charleston on October 22, 1933, the son of Betty and Abe Goldberg. He was a successful lawyer, talented in all phases of the law, and considered a specialist in family law matters.

He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina and was admitted to the Bar in 1956. He was a member of the Charleston County, South Carolina and American Bar Associations. He served as President of the Charleston County Bar Association in 1977-78; as a Past President of the Young Lawyers Section of the South Carolina Bar Association; past member of the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of the South Carolina Bar. He served as a Associate Judge of the City of Charleston Municipal Court and was Assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of Charleston for seven years.

Mr. Goldberg lived well and laughed often. He gained and held the respect and admiration of the judiciary, his colleagues at the Bar and his clients. He contributed to the well-being and happiness of many people over his life span and left an indelible impression in the minds and hearts of the people whose lives he touched.

He was survived by his widow, Sheran B. Goldberg, and his daughters, Julie and Paige Goldberg.
