Alfred Edmundston Dufour
1927-1992

Born Charleston, South Carolina, son of Alfred Emmanuel and Louise Baker Dufour. U.S. Navy 1945-46. Graduated, Citadel, 1948 (Round Table, Basketball Team Captain, 1947-48), Duke Law School, 1951. Married classmate, Milly Smith, 1950. Established Dufour & Dufour, Aiken, South Carolina, 1951.

Member, active participant, South Carolina Bar (original member Bar Council Board), American Bar, Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, Aiken County Bar (former President) and Public Defender Association (Founding member, Treasurer), South Carolina and American Trial Lawyers, South Carolina Judicial Invitational, Aiken Jaycees (former President), Rotary, Business Men's, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, South Carolina National Bank advisory board and other business, civic and social organizations. Communicant St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church.

Survived by widow, mother, sons, Glenn Edward, Stephen Alan and Raymond Alfred, grandchildren, Allison Louise and Max Raymond Dufour, and sister, Elizabeth Rivers.

Epitomized character, industry and integrity. Devoted to family, the law, clients and community. Bench, bar and community admired and respected him!
