Bernard Melchoir Thomson, Jr.
1913-1991

Bernard Melchoir Thomson, Jr., born in Jessup, Georgia, June 28, 1913, son of Bernard Melchoir Thomson and Hattie Easterby Thomson.

Graduated Citadel, 1934; University of South Carolina Law School, 1937. Admitted in all state and federal courts. U.S. Army Air Corp., World War II. Retired Reserve, Lieutenant Colonel. Married, Maud Cameron Causey Thomson, October 11, 1941. Practiced with Hagood, Rivers, and Young, Charleston, South Carolina. Established Holmes and Thomson in 1965. Practiced there until death on August 6, 1991.

Member Charleston County, South Carolina and American Bar Association. Active communicant at Grace Episcopal Church where he taught Sunday school, served on Vestry and as Senior Warden.

Member St. Andrew's Society. Past president and district governor Civitan International. General Counsel and Director of First Federal Savings and Loan Association.

Survived by wife, children, Bernard M. Thomson, III, and Camilla T. Madding, and 6 grandchildren.
