Student-Faculty Committees (2 members on each committee)
A faculty member chairs the committees listed below and this chairperson will call the meetings. Students do not have a vote on decisions made by these committees. However, students on these committees do have a very large responsibility. The students on these committees, starting this year, are responsible for submitting reports to SBA of what goes on during the meeting. Through these reports SBA will inform the rest of the student body of what issues are being discussed as well as what decisions the faculty is making on our behalf. Without these reports and student participation on these committees, we, as law school students, will be left in the dark about important decisions concerning curriculum, scheduling, and hiring of new faculty.
These include the following committees:
Admissions (2 student representatives)
The faculty admissions committee reviews proposals and changes to the admissions process.
Academic Responsibility (2 student representatives)
The faculty academic responsibility committee reviews potential honor code and academic responsibility violations.
Curriculum (2 student representatives)
The faculty curriculum committee reviews curriculum proposals and changes, as well as decides what classes are offered.
Executive (SBA President and Vice President)
The faculty executive committee is an administrative committee and votes on administrative proposals.
Faculty Selection (2 student representatives)
The faculty selection committee interviews faculty candidates and offers initial impressions. The student members in addition to attending meetings are also called upon to recruit other students to participate in faculty interviews.
