  • University of South Carolina - School of Law was the site of the American Bar Association (ABA) pilot project, Pro Se Modification of Child Support Orders Through the Courts. The project was directed by the ABA Center for Children and funded by the State Justice Institute and the Office of Child Support Enforcement.
  • Named the 444th Daily Point of Light by President, George Bush, the only law school to receive this honor (1991)
  • Presented the University of South Carolina's Outstanding Student Organization Award (1991)
  • Named South Carolina Department of Youth Services Volunteer Organization of the Year (1992)
  • Presented the Harvest Hope Food Bank's Community Service Award (1997, 1998, )
  • Presented Outstanding Food Drive Awards by Harvest Hope Food Bank, (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002)
  • September 27, 1999 named USC School of Law Pro Bono Day by Governor Jim Hodges
  • Individual students have received awards from the University South Carolina and from the Richland County Guardian ad Litem project
